Weber Thompson's Watershed building set an exceptionally high bar. The seven-story, 65,000 square foot Seattle office was designed around the Living Building Challenge, using 25% less energy than a code-compliant building, reducing potable water use by 75%, and vetting every material for toxic chemicals and local sourcing. It won the 2020 NAIOP Sustainable Office Development of the Year. The furniture had to meet the same standard. Workpointe partnered with Weber Thompson early to ensure the furniture supported the building's holistic vision. The project was phased, workstations first and ancillary second, to keep execution focused.
